The Coal House Event Space at Historic Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary is available for private rental.

‍With our scenic location in the foothills of Frozen Head State Park, the Coal House is an excellent venue for all types of events. One of the oldest buildings on the property, the Coal House was build by the prisoners and used to store coal. The Coal House has 2 restrooms, a fire pit, tiki torches, a stage with a microphone and speakers, and wi-fi access. With all of these amazing amenities and the on-site catering kitchen available, you’ll see why the Coal House is the place to hold your event.

Whether it’s a rehearsal dinner for 40 or a corporate party for 200, the Coal House offers a unique opportunity for respite, celebration, and laughter surrounded by the serenity of being outside in the scenic foothills of Frozen Head Mountain.

Event Space Inquiry

Rental fee is $4,000.00. This fee includes use of tables and chairs and initial cleaning of facility. Hours of use 8 a.m. until 11 p.m.

A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to book the date.

Please note: this is for Coal House Event Space only.
We will not respond to Non-Event Space tour requests. Please direct any Brushy-related questions here. Thank you for your understanding.
